Abstract

Within the framework of the Educational Model for Compulsory Education, situated learning constitutes the refinement of teaching practice to achieve the development of 21st-century competencies. As for the individual research proposed as the subject of Monograph by International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB), in the Upper Secondary Education Center of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, it outlines the creation of these competencies through the situated learning technique, based on a methodology of authentic problems resolution learning, which emphasizes at the same time the creation of higher order thinking skills. In this heuristic process, it is important to rethink research as an approach to overshadow these concepts, also as a vehicle for knowledge, a means of production of situated learning, and a bridge to the academic life to professionalization.
