In 2006, the area planted with pepper in Aguascalientes was 1,104 ha with a production of 10,897 t. The objetive of the study was the evaluation of fertilization programs with plastic mulch and drip irrigation in pepper crop. the experiment was estabilished in the Pilot Farm of the Univerdidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. Three treatments were evaluated: absolute control, vermicompost and cattle manure. The experimental design was a Randomized Generalized Blocks with two blocks and three replicates per treatment. Total yield, root length, volume of water applied and chemical properties of the soil were measured. Tukey test to compare treatment means was used. Statistical difference (P≤0.05) for total yield was observed. Cattle manure treatment expressed higher total yield, followed by the control and vermicompost. No statistical difference between treatments for root length was observed.
