The wild Laurel (Litsea glaucescens Kunth) is a forestry species considered an endangered species due to the reduction of their population by extensive and illegal collections of their branches for different uses. In this study several populations of wild Laurel in Central Mexico (Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosí States), were localized and studied. The most effective protocol for propagation was obtained from explants generated of the germination of in vitro mature seeds, with 0.5 mg L-1 BA. For plant rooting the best treatment was that of 1 mg L-1 AIB. The dendrogram showed a separation between a group that included only specimens from San
Luis Potosí, and a second group with specimens from San Luis Potosí but also specimens from Aguascalientes. The specimens generated in vitro did not split from the rest and were kept inside the group from the location which they were initially from.
