Abstract

The uncertain environment in which businesses are actually developed is forcing the organizations, mainly the small and medium-sized enterprises, to protect its patents, trademarks and image legally through intellectual property, that which can favor its growth and development. This paper has as main objective to analyze the effects of the intellectual property rights in the growth of the manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises of the state of Aguascalientes. The empiric analysis was carried out for a sample of 125 manufacturing firms from 20 to 250 employees. The obtained results indicate that both the intellectual property rights as the size of the organizations, have a positive impact in the growth; not so in the antiquity of the companies.
