Taper-volume compatible functions for three Pinus species at Management Forest Unit 0808 from Chihuahua state

The purpose of the present study was to fit nine taper-volume compatible models to Pinus arizonica, P. durangensis and P. engelmannii species from Chihuahua State, Mexico. To realize this study, 111, 108 and 91 trees of each species were selected, respectively. The analysis required linking the Schmacher & Hall volume model to each one of nine taper models to fit them simultaneously and select the most compatible taper-volume model. The best results for the three pine species were obtained with the compatible taper-volume models proposed by Fang and Cruz-Cobos.
