Abstract

The development of professional practice in the Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching French and Spanish as Foreign Languages at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) is essential for students to put into practice their knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values as future teachers of both languages. This is established in the curriculum of the program, which includes fifteen courses focused on this training. Accordingly, the UAA stipulates in its regulations the implementation and development of these practices for the same purpose.

The local context influences the options available to students when fulfilling the objectives of the Teaching Practice I and II courses, in which they teach classes in front of a group. For its part, the program’s faculty must closely monitor the development of these courses, supporting students’ progress in order to ensure that the educational process adheres both to the course requirements and to the guidelines of the Institutional Program for Professional Practice. Based on in situ observations and surveys conducted with students, it is evident that these practices strengthen their capacity for adaptation in line with the program’s graduate profile. However, they also represent a significant challenge, given the multiple aspects that must be considered when teaching these languages.
