Abstract

This article proposes a way of studying patrimonial architecture from a descriptive analysis. It presents the need to have an educational tool that helps address that educational approach in an objective way. Its design is based on the organization of concepts and theories proposed by theoretical researchers, as well as the own educators’ experience and the students’ perceptions, retrieved through a survey. This establishes a clear structure of information for a better understanding of the different aspects of analysis of the heritage architecture. The resulting final product is the table titled “Methodology for the descriptive analysis of heritage architecture”, implemented in the architectural heritage course within the Bachelor of Architecture Program at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA).

Author Biography

Juan Jesús Aranda Villalobos, Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes

He holds a master’s degree in architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico de Zacatecas (ITZ). He graduated in architecture from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA). Currently, he is a full-time professor-researcher in the Architecture Department from the Sciences of Design and Construction Center from the UAA where he teaches subjects of architectonic design, heritage, history and theory of architecture. He has been a speaker of topics related to architectonic and urban research in national forums such as Asociación de Instituciones de Enseñanza de la Arquitectura de la República Mexicana (ASINEA) and the Consorcio de Universidades Mexicanas (CUMEX), as well as in the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, ITZ, Instituto Tecnológico Superior de La Paz, and Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Nochistlán. He has also participated in research seminars. He is author of articles on architectural and urban research.
