This text presents the reproduction of the keynote address delivered during the commencement ceremony for graduates of the Center for Arts and Culture and the Center for Basic Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. I had the honor of being invited as the guest speaker for the ceremony, which took place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the University Multipurpose Hall (SUUM) on the main campus. The address reflects on the legacy of public universities in shaping professionals and examines their ethical and political implications. Additionally, it extends an invitation to build networks of solidarity that support the practice of one’s profession within the community.
