Use of Virtual Facebook Groups for Educational Purposes

Abstract

Facebook is a social network that has different uses, ranging from communication, advertising, commercial and educational uses.  From the experiences that have been had in teaching at the higher education level, the concern to make use of technology for the achievement of expected learning in the different academic programs that are attended has arisen, but the simple interest is not enough, it is necessary to plan the educational process, evaluation and monitoring of the process. The purpose of this article is to present didactic guidelines for teachers who are interested in using virtual groups of this social network as a didactic alternative to promote collaborative learning.
