During centuries, the figure and teaching of the teacher were the central elements to which the success of the learning of the students was attributed to, who, from the same etymological root of the word, derived from the Latin alumnus, that means “fed” (Real Academia Española, 2001)- were considered as passive beings and recipients of information. The formal education had the essential target of preparing the student for life, by the development of their intelligence, understood as the capability of accumulating knowledge, mainly of conceptual character (Galviz, 2007).
