The definition of history can lend itself to multiple interpretations, ranging from knowledge of the past as a luxury item and the possession of a privileged memory to store facts, dates or characters, to the understanding of it as an official story that serves the interests of power. The meaning of such a word has become more complex, acquiring a scientific character whose social function of explanation is not discussed. Thus, the essay seeks to include in this idea the term "intrahistory", whose creation belongs to the 19th century spanish philosopher Miguel de Unamuno (1864-1936), in conjunction with the work of Carlos Fuentes, in order to demonstrate the unbreakable relationship between the historical discipline and literature.
