Abstract

In the following pages, this work seeks to show the primordial role of Mexican historiography in the formation of a national conscience and in the elaboration of an integrating discourse, starting from the fusion of the two ethnic roots, indigenous and Spanish, under the strong influence of Yankeeism in the search for this national project. It proposes serious reflection on its work as an essential link between the academic thought of the intellectual elites and the core and daily feeling of the people who today face the urgent need to strengthen their historical and social values.
