Abstract

This article aims to draw attention to the issue of the origin of historic Protestantism in Cuba, where a vein understudied is the close relationship that existed between Cuban migrants or exiles in the United States and the independence rebels in the island. The Cuban Protestant missionaries, trained in American churches, are key figure in understanding the networks woven around activities, in addition to pastoral work, such as financial aid, arms procurement, and support of all kinds for independence of the island.
