Abstract

The father of cognitive style, Hermann Witkin, so called for his contributions to the development of a theory of cognitive styles of field-dependence, field independence; He was the first to conceptualize a cognitive differentiation related to performances before tasks that different people could solve with different strategies. The design of their laboratory situations has transcended to teaching practices and diverse applications. This article presents the meaning of these practices and their transcendence.
