Abstract

This article presents an urban project propasal as a useful tool for a strategic planning of organized city growth. First of ali, we introduce sorne considerations about the concept of Urban Project as well as sorne characteristics of growth in Aguascalientes during the recent years. Then, we presentan exarnple of an Urban Project for a specific part of the City of Aguascalientes: on the west side of the San Pedro river This first approach to the process of the urban project does not pretend to offer definitive solutions, but to explore the potential of a territory section, and to start a shared project process. This approach is presented with a double objective: first, to pro pose an alternative rnorphology, its inconveniences and conditions of
realisation; second, to explore a conception and negotiation process that rnakes this type of projects possible or to give way to different alternatives here or in other locations.
