Abstract

A case study on school violence that took place in a technological high school of Aguascalientes, Mexico, is reported in this article. The perspective of principals, teachers, students and families is recovered through questionnaires, and individual and group interviews. School violence is examined through six dimensions: verbal, physical, psychological, physical damage, violence through ict and bullying, seeking for their structural and cultural roots. It was found that although a good climate of relationships is perceived, various manifestations of violence are present at school, some forms of which tend to make invisible and are incorporated as part of the school culture. Besides, when teachers and principals naturalize expressions of school violence, structural and organizational measures to counter them are inhibited; but when serious problems are perceived, resources are mobilized to eradicate them.
