In this research, our main objective is exposing a brief interpretation of the artistic production of Mirtha Dermisache and Rosaire Appel, in order to answer the question: it is possible to establish asemic writing as an aesthetic response to the surrounding world? In order to limit our central question, the work is divided into three moments. Initially, we will focus our attention on delimiting what asemic writing consists of, bases on the theoretical framework of Roland Barthes and Peter Schwenger. Subsequently, we will examine two works by Dermisache: Diary N° 1 Year 1 and Book N° 1 Year 1 to reveal how her work constitutes a paradigmatic case of asemic writing. Finally, through the proyect Liquid Caligraphy by multidisciplinary artist Rosaire Appel, we will show how asemic writing invites us to think on the ways in which reality is read and written.
