This article presents the lines of action implemented by some teachers of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Universidad Veracruzana that perform the role of an academic tutor. These actions have the purpose of contributing to the development of a comprehensive education of students, purpose that is established in the institutional model of education of the university. The present article is based on the institutional governing documents and the practices performed by academic tutors, whose aim is offering accompaniment to students throughout their academic journey through personalized or group support during the admission process, stay, and graduation process, taking into account the interest, motivations, expectations, and needs of students, as well as the graduate profile in order to consolidate the professional competencies within the framework of comprehensive formation and under the impetus of transversal themes undertaken by the institution.
