Higher education institutions develop three substantive functions: teaching, researching, and linking, in accordance to what various authors such as Soledispa, Sumba and Yoza (2021), Folch (2012) and Rangel (1979), among others stipulate. These have been analyzed from several points of view, highlighting its importance, objectives, assignments, relationships, and tensions. In this issue 28 of the Docere magazine, diverse articles, that allow to reflect on the function of teaching in undergraduate groups and how it has evolved in Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) in its 50 years of existence, are presented.
