This study develops the design and application of a constructivist teaching process for a course aimed at statistical industrial engineers at the tertiary educational level and reviews the results obtained. The elements involved in the design were: (1) curricular background, (2) project resolution, (3) collaborative group work, (4) evaluation by rubrics, (5) self-evaluation, and (6) communication of results. The results suggest that this form of instruction is highly motivating, develops relevant skills in students according to their professional profile, allows them to mature cognitively while previous learning is fructified in another dimension: the applied one.
