This work addresses an approach the importance of tutorial action in distance education through the experience of the Universidad Abierta y a Distancia de México (UNADM). Since its creation, at the university, a large number of students have dropped out, especially in the first semesters, primarily due to the need to have a job while pursuing their studies. This dual burden becomes excessive, creates scheduling conflicts between the required times for both activities, and limits the time available for studying. Additionally, due to their low socioeconomic level, some students do not have internet access at home, and others in addition to that, cannotmeet their basic needs. Finally, the lack of communication from the online teacher generates a sense of absence in their students.
