The role of tutoring and the tutor in upper secondary and higher education is outlined. Moreover, the importance of tutor formation to conduct tutorial action and the proper development of institutional tutoring programs is highlighted. Finally, some tools and techniques to facilitate the performance of upper secondary and higher education tutors in the practice of tutoring are presented.
