Abstract

The following interview with the homoerotic narrative writer, Luis Martín Ulloa, was done on August 9, 2023, inside the D'val café, seated in the downtown of Guadalajara city in México. This interview recovers the narrator's vision about the spaces and dinamics from sexual dissidents in this city at the end of the 20th century. Beside emerge some reflections about the influence from this cultural and politic context to the composition of his homoerotic narrative, wich belongs to the compilation of stories Damas y Caballeros (1998).

Author Biography

Javier Galván Alba, Universidad de Guanajuato

He was born in Tlalnepantla, Mexico City. Graduated in Hispanic Literature from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes in 2009, with a thesis that addresses boredom and eroticism in the novel Los nombres del aire by Alberto Ruy Sánchez. He earned a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from the Universidad de Guadalajara in 2014, with a research project that addresses the role of the magnicide in the collective imagination and how that influences the mexican literature through narrative perspectives. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the Interinstitucional PhD on Art and Culture, affiliated at the University of Guanajuato, with a thesis that addresses homoerotic discourse in the narrative of Luis Martín Ulloa.
