Abstract

The year 2020 was considered by the world health organization as the international year of the nurse and midwife. On the occasion of the Florence Nightingale bicentennial, nurses from around the world, coordinated by the International Council of Nurses, launch the "Nursing Now" campaign. However, the COVID-19 Pandemic modifies the plans, the campaign and the commemoration extend until 2021. Although the campaign seeks to empower the world's nurses, Mexico faces great and serious challenges in public health and nursing seems to be in conditions to contribute to the solution; Aguascalientes has a not so clear image of what it means to lead and influence the social impact of the international movement
