Identification of MMP-7-181A>G polymorphism in potosine women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia

Abstract

Metalloproteases are involved in regulation growth, differentiation, apoptosis, invasion, migration, metastasis,
angiogenesis and regulate the tumor microenvironment.
The polymorphism -181A>G of the MMP-7 gene causes overexpression of the protein and has been associated with various cancers: liver, lung, mouth and Cervical Cancer (CC). In this study 103 samples of desquamated buccal cells were collected from patients with different degrees of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN), and the instrument (30 items) for the identification of risk factor and co-factors for the development of CIN and CC was applied. A 159bp fragment of the MMP-7 gene was amplified by PCR for the identification of the -181A>G polymorphism through restriction analysis.
