The introduction of electric lighting in the homes of Puebla, from the Porfiriato to the Revolution

This article analyzed, through advertising in the press, the changes in material culture due to the arrival of electric light in homes in Puebla between 1888-1921, and the repercussions on the nocturnal activities of the bourgeoisie in domestic spaces. Electrification has been approached from different perspectives by History for two decades in Mexico, in view of this, the history of daily life made it possible to visualize the changes in habits that shaped the rhythms, fun and sociability, with the technology as a factor for such transformations. For this reason, it was worth analyzing those aspects of urban life at that time.
