In its evangelizing zeal, the Church began to make missions to take Catholicism to more places, one of them was China, where this religion met with Confucianism. This article discusses how Ricci introduced himself into a culture that was foreign to him in order to gain followers. He did not seek to impose Catholicism, but rather that the inhabitants would decide to accept it. Throughout these pages, the errors and successes of this missionary are shown, the criticism that the Church made of him, since he did not achieve the expected results, the confrontations that were made between the dogmas, the failed syncretism, etc.
