The objective of this article is to present a series of problems of different types that students in public upper secondary schools in Aguascalientes face. However, those problems may also be common in other schools across the country. These problems are not easy to resolve through the tutoring offered in these institutions. The description of these problems and the acknowledgment of attention deficit are the result of the opinion of school administrators, tutors, and teachers, who were surveyed through questionnaires and in-depth interviews in 2018. It is concluded that, given the magnitude of these educational challenges, which are family and society challenges, tutoring should be complemented by direct and effective collaboration among teachers, parents, and people responsible for implementing social programs in favor of youth outside school.
