Abstract

With the aim of diversifying the educational-artistic offerings, in 2009 the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (UAA) created the Department of Music, which, among its various activities to promote art, implemented in 2010 the Alfonso Moreno professorship with the objective of providing students with updating, expansion, and cultural reflection through the exchange of musical experiences. The chair in question has had artists of wide trajectory and recognition, which annually have fostered the strengthening of the student body and promoted their academic training.

Author Biography

Leslie Freitas de Torres, Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes

Es originaria de San Pablo, Brasil, actualmente con residencia en México. Es doctora en Musicología por la Universidad de Oviedo, España. Durante su trayectoria, ha publicado varios artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales; asimismo, fue galardonada en la 5ª edición del Premio de Investigación Histórica Domingo Fontán de la Real Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País de Santiago de Compostela, España. Actualmente, es investigadora independiente y miembro de los grupos Organistrum, de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, España, y Acciones Académicas en la Historia Presente, del Departamento de Música del Centro de las Artes y la Cultura, adscrito a la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes.
