Student´s Community Vision of the High School in Villa Hidalgo, Jalisco

The vison of the high school youth needs to be perceived from the environment on which they develop, this way, intervention strategies that allow them to graduate from the higher middle level could be set out. Therefore, its required to know the contextual factors that influence so the high school students in the municipality of Villa Hidalgo, Jalisco, can take a decision about continuing their academic trajectory. For that purpose, a study that was applied to a total of 120 students of sixth semester was realized, students who belong to the Preparatoria Regional Lagos de Moreno, modulo Villa Hidalgo, to understand the main motives and sociocultural aspects on which students determine whether to continue studying or not. The 73% of the youth mentioned that they do wish to start university, 72.89% points out that the main reason to not continue is the lack of economic resources, plus the support given by their families.
