Abstract

This paper presents an approach to the understanding and political analysis of moral education in Mexico. Starting from the fact that Mexican society is undergoing a transition process that modifies social and economic expectations regarding education, the national education projects of the two centuries of independent Mexico are reviewed, situating them in the context of liberal thought and the formation of the state. A prospective is enunciated in which it is fundamental to understand moral education as a fundamental way and condition of realization of the liberal reason in a strategy of integration of social, governmental and school actions.
