Abstract

The case of the union Sealed Power shows the anatomy of a democracy arising from the response to efficiency imposed by the widespread and attentive participation of workers in production, in processes that involve them for the sake of efficiency and total quality, but coupled to a process in which - when the dissemination of information and the participation of the workers became commonplace - the mere formal manifestations of democracy were exceeded in a practice of effective representativeness and transparent, limited and generalized exercise of power.
