Abstract

This article analyzes how the gender identity is constructed in the human being. It starts from the identity and gender definitions to delimitits topic. lt also explains how a person's identity is formed through specific characteristics determining it socially and historically. It tackles, as a main point, gender identity (masculine and feminine). through this, persons learn to be men or women and they know their own development possibilities. The article concludes with sorne considerations about how that identity should be constructed nowadays.
