Abstract

To know the evolution of the spatial structure of the town of San Felipe from the viceroyalty to independence and until its erection as a city, it is necessary to identify and analyze the agents of the organization and socio-spatial change. The present study aims to understand and explain the territorial evolution suffered by the Villa de San Felipe since its foundation (1562), until its territorial reorganization (1852), where the main neighbors and members of the town council that in their privileged position became the main agents of socio-spatial change.
