Abstract

The purpose of this article is to give an account of how trade unionism in the state of Jalisco has managed to prevail despite the institutional crisis of the state, the internal conflicts of the central workers, the privatization of parastatals and the persistent attempts of disappearing the groups of workers, as a purpose of the Mexican State to minimize one of the institutions that gave legitimacy to some local governments during the decades of the forties until the eighties.
