Abstract

The objective of this work is to share the experiences and reflections in the development of a research project on economic practices in alternative street markets and barter spaces, both self-appointed as forms of Social Solidarity Economy. To do this, I describe which factors were present for the choice of the research topic, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of implementing Grounded Theory as a method. Finally, I mention the three categories that were part of the research results; a) Alternative, b) profile of who participates and c) Ideology and Activism.
