Abstract

In Tamaulipas, the orange labor market is based on a complex system of labor intermediation that leads to a disconnection between the labor force (the orange pickers) and their employers (the owners of the orange receipts). This article analyzes how this system of labor intermediation accentuates the situation of social exclusion of the migrant day laborers employed in the pinch of the orange, since it affects lower wages and leads to a total lack of social protection of day laborers.
