Abstract

One of the great achievements of the city of Aguascalietes is that access to land by the vast majority of the population was through the formal market. This is an unusual case, considering that in the majority of the cities of the developing countries the irregular settlements are the base of their expansion. This article presents the paradoxical case of Aguascalientes where the population has access to formal land despite the fact that the informal market presents better conditions of sale for the acquiring population.
