Abstract

The Dance of the Feather is an important tradition preserved by the love, veneration and religious fervor to San Pascual Bailón that still takes place in the state of Aguascalientes. This dance is representative of El Puerto de la Concepción, a community belonging to the municipality of Tepezalá: this dance takes place during the fiesta in which the town organizes every May 17, presumably, the day of San Pascual Bailón. The devotion to this saint keeps the Dance of the Feather alive as a tradition of the people of El Puerto de la Concepción: when executed during the religious festival you can see a clear example of religious syncretism between Catholicism and prehispanic cultural baggage.
