Abstract

The Major Confessional in the Mexican and Castilian Language, written by Friar Alonso de Molina, was published in 1565, as an instrument to prepare the indigenous people, who spoke Nahuatl, for a good confession. This text reached a wide diffusion and was soon published again twice. What this article pretends is to analyze this book as the magnificent instrument it was to teach the newly converts Mexican Indians, the doctrine of their religion.
