Abstract

When transnacional corporate business settle in developing countries, they often import from their industralised countries of origin not only capital but also managerial practices that are closely  linked with their surrounding culture. That is to say that often withou explicit intention, they important values, beliefs, culural norms and cultural practices. Does this mean that the globalisation of  capital implies the globalisation of cultures? This paper analyses the case of a transnational business seltted in México showing that cultural, imported assumptions behind managerial practices collide with indigenous culture and leads to organizational inefficiency. This is also an anwer to the more general question about the globalisation of cultures.
