Abstract

I present a review from the personal experience that arises from reading the book Psychoanalysis, Clinic and Context. Subjectivity, History and Autobiography (Parker, 2019). At the same time, I make a tour of the thematic structure of the book and the reflections raised from its reading. I also propose the dialectic of evasion and the encounter with the evaded as a structural axis of the text. This axis works as a device that allows establishing the continuity between personal experience and the cultural historical context of the theories and practices described in the text. I also point out the value of subjective work as a tool for caring for oneself through self-knowledge.
