Abstract

This article analyzes the application of the Ordenanzas de Intendentes (1976) in the village of Aguascalientes through the role of “subdelegados” in the power structure formed by City Councils (“Ayuntamientos”) and “Intendentes”. Taking into account not only the Ordenanzas but the main political actors, this article shows some problems and limits that Borbonic reforms faced in their trial to modify the local power.
