Abstract

The article presents a historical approach to industrialization in the state of Aguascalientes during the last decades of the 20th century. Emphasis is placed on the economic implications of the process. The first part presents the historical and contextual antecedents of the process. The second part presents a comparison of the economic performance of aguascalientes with respect to performance at the national level. The third part deals with the process of industrialization of Aguascalientes within the framework of the reordering of capitalism in Mexico. The fourth section addresses the characteristics of industrialization in Aguascalientes based on its geographic location. The fifth and final part focuses on the specificities and differences of industrialization in Aguascalientes compared to other states in Mexico.
