The historical novel is a fictional narration that is inspired by an historical event, which is similar to fanfiction because these are fictional narratives based on another book or celebrity that is already real. This article is an invitation to dialogue of an historical and literary question, looking a possible relation between the two literary genres, considering the sharing characteristics, especially the power that the writer gets at the moment of changing the original plot (reality of history’s in the historical novel and current book’s in fanfics), but also pointing its differences, because fanfic is more accessible than the historical novel.
