Abstract

In this research article are analyze the territorial and administration transformations that presented in the New Spain viceroyalty after the instauration of the Intendency, this through the study of the Yucatan province case. The application of the intendencies system of 1786 suppose a political-administrative coyuntural change in all the viceroyalty regions, which provoque, according to the Crown needs, an innovation in the administration of the provinces that, henceforth, due to the articles included in the Royal Ordinance, they were called Intendencies and were in command of an Intendant together with his auxiliary officials the subdelegates.
