Abstract

The National Action Party (PAN) became a competitive organization in the north and mid-west of the country in the competition it had against the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to remove the hegemony of power of the latter. To achieve this, the PAN had the support of organizations related to the Catholic Church since the creation of the party. The objective of this paper is to show this relationship and the performance that this party had in the local elections from 1995 to 2016, for this purpose, each vote is analyzed; in addition, an emphasis is made on El Llano, since in this municipality the party received fewer votes.
