For any visual artist, their studio represents the space that sees their works born and that constitutes their imaginative intimacy, but in addition to their physical character, this can also be thought of as the state of consciousness in which they reflect and initiate a creative process based on their experiences, feelings and mood; that mental and geographical place in which they produce art. The case of the Aguascalientes sculptor Jesús F. Contreras isn't a exception, as shown by the photographs from his personal collection that were selected for this article, which were rescued from the Vault that bears his name within the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes and which has a whole collection available for consultation by researchers. This text proposes, therefore, to take the reader on a visual tour through the images that manifest the silence of the study in which Contreras materialized his figures in bronze or marble.
