The article describes the relation between perception and reason in Plato, from the point of view of action theory. By traditionally emphasizing the split between perception and knowledge many passages of Plato in which addresses several bidirectional links have been relegated. The most widespread interpretations of Plato limited, however, the ability of the faculty of perception, to the point of turning it into a passive faculty of the soul that does not handle any kind of content and is dedicated only to the mere transmission of information. I study the relation between the appetitive soul, perception, and the rational soul from the reading of three Platonic dialogues, the most important in the treatment of perception, namely: Republic, Theaetetus and Timaeus.Downloads
