This short essay approaches Nietzsche’s criticism of Modernityfrom three elements of analysis. The first one is the
understanding of Modernity as a time of uncertainty; the
second one consist in consider the sought of truth by modern
science as a naive enterprise; and the third one is the
perspectivism of truth. To point out the modern uncertainty
opens the discussion about the latent contradiction between
the search of objectivity in scientific knowledge and the nature
of human knowledge sourced in a single context, also underscore towards a perspectivism of truth which responds
to a complex relationship between knowledge and power.
Nietzsche’s reflection contributed to a critical tradition whose
alternative perspective to the positivism continues leading
its analysis on history, meaning and understanding on
the empirical stage.
